Last week you might remember that I did a sneak preview post on what to expect at The Nissan Generation Next UCD Fashion Show. Last Wednesday I went to the show with my friend Sarah and had a great night. There was a good range of different outfits, themes and looks on offer and the entertainment offered created a positive and lively atmosphere.
The theme of the night was International Fashion week and took inspiration from some of the most fashionable cities in the World. My favourite on the night was Milan, where this collection took inspiration from Saint Laurent 2013 Spring/Summer range. It featured a lot of structured silhouettes, with cream blouses, dark trousers and finished off with big floppy hats. I love these two looks featured from the Milan section, the cream chiffon blouses go perfectly with the hats and fur gilet. Looks here are from Vero Moda and Villa.
The Paris section was my second favourite on the night, although it is a bit out of my price range! I really love this light blue dress, I think the style is effortless and looks very sophisticated on the model. The Paris segment of the show featured the ‘Haute Couture’ range with dresses from Covet and Marina Gale. Here the models wore their hair up in simple buns with very soft and dewy makeup. The dresses from this part of the show would be perfect for your college ball or any event that you have coming up.
London was casual and cool featuring a lot of prints and chunky gold jewellery. Inspiration was taken from the streets of London for its iconic street style. My favourite look is the first one here, personally I wouldn’t be able to bare my midriff but the model really pulls it off and these print baggy trousers look great on her. Here, the girl’s collection was from Only and the boys from Jack and Jones. Here’s a few more looks from The Young Designers part of the show!
Overall, I had a great night at the show! The Raglans an upcoming Irish band performed and I must say I was impressed with them; I will definitely be looking up their songs in the future! Also the host Al was amazing, he got the audience laughing and kept us all entertained throughout the intervals between each look. On another note, the show was for a good cause with all profits being donated to the Jack Kavanagh Trust.
What is your favourite look here? Thanks for reading and hope you like some of the looks! I would also like to thank Robert Manning who allowed me to use the photos that he took on the night.
