What I Wore | Panelled River Island Dress

Here’s a dress I bought just before Christmas, if you follow my blog you might have noticed it in the Christmas Outfit Inspirations post I did a couple of weeks ago. Skater style dresses are something I wear a lot as I think they have such a flattering fit and are very versatile choices. I have too many to count in my wardrobe, weather they are skater style skirts or dresses! I have a little obsession! I love how this one is a little bit different with its tweedy style design and black panelling; it’s quite unique compared with the plain skater style dresses on the highstreet at the moment.

I wore this dress quite a lot over the Christmas. Here, I have it teamed with my black cape style cardigan/blazer from River Island and plain flat Chelsea boots that I picked up in Penneys/Primark. I also plan on wearing this for nights out paired with black court heels with the legs out and tan on! The collar of the dress has a simple necklace incorporated so you don’t have to worry about what kind of neck pieces you want to wear with it!
I have put together two different looks below teamed around this dress to show you how to create different looks working off one staple piece of clothing! I have gone for a day look you could wear to college, lunch or even shopping and a going out look.

Dress (River Island) – €40.00
Black Fluffy Cardigan (New Look) – €29.99
Check Snood (New Look) – €9.99
Burgundy Fedora (New Look) – € 17.99
Burgundy Tote (New Look) – €29.99
Black Chelsea Heel (New Look) – €29.99

Heels(New Look) -€29.99

 Ring (River Island) €8.00

What I Wore | Burgundy Cropped Jumper

Today I’m going up to Dublin to see my Aunty for the day; I opted for a casual look to stay warm in the cold and rainy weather. I’m wearing a cropped burgundy jumper teamed with denim shorts. This jumper is years old, I got it in Penneys/Primark and forgot I had it until only recently! I love the cropped style of it as it is makes it very versatile and easy to wear with denim shorts, skater skirts or dresses. I think cropped jumpers are going to be really big this spring, but they will be in more neutral and pastel colours as opposed to this deep burgundy one. I got my shorts in Pull and Bear back last April for about €30 and they were one of my best summer buys! This summer I was on a J1 in America and I lived in these shorts, I have definitely got the wear out of them. To make them more winter appropriate, today I am wearing them with black opaques. You can’t really see my blouse, it is just a plain sleeveless in a dark forest green, I think it adds something nice to the outfit with the little collar popping out.Read More »

Something New | What’s In My Handbag

Since setting up this blog about 6 weeks ago my main focus has been on fashion posts. But with the New Year and to add a bit of variety to The Savvy Styler I thought I might try some beauty/lifestyle posts. I have seen a lot of bloggers doing a “What’s in My Handbag” post and I thought it would be perfect for my first post of this nature. If this gets a good response I was thinking of maybe doing a post more related to beauty/lifestyle once a week to add a bit of diversity to my blog! Please comment below and let me know what you think! J

Haul | January Sales Edit

I wanted to get this post up just after Christmas but unfortunately I didn’t get the chance! Anyways better late than never, here’s my sales edit and what I got!I got a different range of items, mainly casual and the majority black! I seem to wear a lot of black in the winter months, but as the spring/summer season starts and the weather warms up I’ll be wearing brighter colours, I promise! Even though I was late going shopping I still managed to nab a few bargains! I did go a bit shopping mad but the most expensive thing I bought was about €20, so all these pieces are inexpensive and stylish! (In my opinion) Read More »
