Today’s look is an outfit that I styled for a Fashion Styling course that I recently completed with Dublin Institute of Design and top Irish fashion stylist, Laura Jordan. You can find out more about the course here and see the first look I styled for the shoot here.
Keeping with my overall theme of industrial lines and structure with a subtle softness, I wanted one of the looks to reflect something that was a little more daring than my usual style. I know for some this still might seem relaxed and casual, but for my personal style it is a little different. For the look, I chose strong dark neutrals of black and grey paired with a vibrant red lip and handbag. Both the top and trousers are from Penneys, the top is current season setting me back only €5.00 and I picked up the trousers (which are tracksuit bottoms) for around €9.00 last Summer. I completed the look with these point stiletto’s from Zara, Penneys sunglasses and Michael Kors clutch cross body bag.
One of the aspects that I loved about the course is that it has allowed me to look at style, colour and shapes in different ways. I have already noticed in my personal style that slowly but surely I am pushing myself out of my comfort zone and considering pieces that I would usually never wear! I would definitely recommend it if you are interested in fashion styling!
What do you think of this look compared to the first one I styled for the shoot?
