How To Style It | Little Black Dress

Over the last two weeks my blogging has been a bit all over the place, over Christmas I was posting a lot of new posts but since getting back to College I haven’t had as much time. Sorry for the lack of posts, to solve this problem I have decided to start a blogging series for every Tuesday! I feel it will give a bit more stability to my blog and you will know that I will definitely be posting a new blog post on Tuesdays! My idea is to create a “How to Style It” post, for example today I will be focusing on the classic little black dress. I plan to show you three different ways to style it for different occasions allowing you to get the best wear out of staple items that you already own. Each week I aim to focus on one key piece and I would love to hear your ideas of what you would like to see! Of course I will be still posting my regular “What I Wore” posts and other random bits, but this will be a weekly Tuesday post.

Okay so like I said above, today I will be focusing on the classic LBD and I am going to show you three different ways in which to style it.

First up is the night time look, this dress is quite simple and I feel if you accessorize it right it would be perfect for a night out on the town, drinks with friends or dinner with the boyfriend! I have gone for an effortless sophisticated look. This Peter Pan collar dress is from New Look and I have teamed it with chunky boots and black and gold accessories. This outfit would look great with your hair up in a chignon style bun or a fish tail plait! To finish it off I added a monochrome and gold clutch bag, all you need now is somewhere to go!

I have focused on college looks in the past so now I think it’s time to focus on some work wear! I am not working in the big bad world yet, but hopefully some of you that read this are and this look will give you some future outfit inspiration. This black dress is perfect for work, teamed with a light pastel coloured blazer and it’s perfect for spring! I have put it with these simple black courts to add a sophisticated edge and black opaques as it is still a  bit chilly to have the legs out. I love this watch from River Island and think it adds a little uniqueness to the outfit and it’s practical too so you’re on time for work too!

Finally, here’s a way to transform this dress so you can wear it during the day. It’d be perfect for lunch out, shopping or even if you’re heading off for a city break and looking for something that’s versatile, easy to wear and doesn’t take up too much room in your suitcase! This coral for coat is perfect the spring and it is a nice change from dark winter colours. This together with the tan accessories and tribal ring make the outfit a perfect combination for a slightly dressed up day time look.

I really hoped you like this post and my idea of creating a series around it. I would love to know if there is anything specific you would like me to include as the staple item in the future! I always love hearing your feedback and comments!
