Just to say Thank You and Merry Christmas

This is a post to say thank you to everyone who has supported me since I set up my blog just over a month ago! Initially I was terrified to start up something like this and share my life and love of fashion with the internet; it was something that was completely out of my comfort zone and new to me! But the support and kind words I have received have showed me that this risk was worth it and I am truly thankful and appreciative to all of you! Weather you follow me through Google Friends Connect (on the right of the page), Bloglovin’, Google +, Facebook or even just stumbled across my page randomly. I am grateful that you may have taken the time to read some of my posts or even leave a comment. It shows me that I’m not just blabbering on to myself but people actually read this and that means a lot! I really hope that you continue to follow what I do in the future and that more and more people will start reading and following this little space on the internet that I have!Read More »

What I Wore | Travelling Home for Christmas

So yesterday I left Dublin and headed home to Laois for Christmas. It was sooo cold out I decided to stay casual and warm as I didn’t want to be freezing as I dragged my suitcases to the train station. I wore a black and white patterned furry jumper that I got in the Awear sale, I teamed it with black skinny jeans and flat black Chelsea style boots from Penneys/Primark and I think they were about €11. I’d say about half my wardrobe consists of Penneys/Primark, I shouldn’t be allowed into that shop! To keep my ears nice and cosy I also wore this headband from H & M, another steal at just €4.95. I have been looking for a nice one for a while now and was delighted when I found this one. The red also adds a bit of festiveness to my outfit! 🙂 My necklace was a Christmas present from my boyfriend, Mark. I love it so much and think it completes this outfit nicely. It’s quite unique with the pearls and I’m sure you’ll see me wearing it a lot over the Christmas.Read More »

Christmas Drinks Outfit of The Day

Hope everyone liked the Christmas outfit inspirations post yesterday! Over Christmas I am going to try and blog a lot as I have a variety of different things coming up and I am off from college. Last night I went for Christmas drinks and nibbles and got to see a lot of friends I hadn’t seen since in a while seeing the exams had taken over my life! I went quite casual and I wore a new top I picked up while Christmas shopping and teamed it with my black skater skirt. I love this top, it’s so pretty! I picked it up in Penneys/ Primark for €11, which I thought was a brilliant price! The coiled neckline on this top creates a nice girly look and adds good shape to the fit of it. I feel it’s very wearable and it would look just as nice with a pair of skinny jeans. To complete this look I teamed it with black brogue shoes that have a slight heel. I got these shoes a couple of years ago and completely forgot about them until I found them at the back of my wardrobe recently! I got them in Penneys/Primark and think they were about a tenner at the time.Read More »

Styling | Christmas Outfit Inspirations

I’m back! Exams are finally over and my Christmas holidays have officially begun. I’m really looking forward to not thinking about studying again for the next month and just enjoying the Christmas season! To get everyone in the Christmas mood I thought it would be fitting to give you some festive outfit inspirations for this holiday season. I know how hard it can be to find outfits to fit every occasion over Christmas so I will try to cover a variation of different looks to keep you stylish as you enjoy all the turkey and selection boxes! I have tried to re-use a few items in the looks to show how different accessories can be used for different outfits. I hope these help and inspire you to see what you already have in your wardrobes and create new looks with them!

12 Pubs of Christmas
Everyone seems to be doing 12 pubs of Christmas this year and it is the perfect time to get the wear out of your Christmas Jumper. I love this reindeer jumper and it’s not too in your face like a lot of the festive jumpers out there. I would put it with these black leggings to keep you warm as you run from pub to pub. The leather panelling dresses up these leggings a bit and would be perfect for a pub night. Teamed with a chelsea boot and cross body bag you will be ready for a night of pub fun!

Lunch with the Girls
Anyone who knows me knows I have a love affair with all things chequered or tartan! While doing Christmas shopping I noticed this dress in New Look and I’m sorry I didn’t buy it now! It’s a light jersey material that would be perfect for going shopping or having lunch with the girls over Christmas. The swing design of is very airy and gives you a lot of freedom which is what we want as we stuff our faces with an enormous amount of Christmas pudding and chocolate! If this style doesn’t suit you, another look would be to cinch it in at the waist with a skinny belt. This fringed cardigan is really cool and would add an edge to your outfit while still staying warm! This one is from H & M and is €29.95, which is an okay price for something you would get a lot of wear out of and this would go with a lot of different outfits and looks.  A nice heeled Chelsea boot and oversized bag would go perfect with this outfit!
Christmas Day
Christmas Day for me is usually just spent lazily around the house watching movies and stuffing my face with lots of yummy food! Unlike a lot of people I don’t like wearing my pyjamas around the house on Christmas day. Instead I like to be comfy while still looking stylish and I think this dress is perfect! I own a lot of skater style dresses and skirts and I feel this dress would be a perfect addition to my collection! I love the centre panelling of this dress and the gold neck piece included within the design. It’s nice and flowy which would be perfect for Christmas day! I would team it with a flat pump or boots and a black boyfriend style blazer.Stephens Night
At home Stephens night is a big deal and nearly even bigger than New Years! Everyone seems to be out on the town and enjoying the Christmas season. This year I have a wedding on the day after Stephens so I won’t be going wild! Usually I like to go dressy on Stephens’s night with the heels and legs out! I think this would be perfect as it has a festive feel to it while still being a bit understated. I think a nice strappy heel would set this look off but it would also look equally as good with a court heel!New Years Eve

I love this dress and it’s only €39.99 from New Look! Around Christmas everyone seems to be wearing lots of sequins and sparkle, I’m not really big into all things sparkly so this dress would be perfect for me or anyone else who feels the same. This dress would be ideal for New Years Eve, I love the detail around the neck which I think makes it a very elegant and classy option to ring in the New Year. I would team it with a black blazer and minimalistic jewellery as I feel it would take away from the detail in this dress, so I would opt for a cuff bracelet and stud earrings. To show of the neck detail I think having your hair up is a must. A pretty chignon style bun with curls shaping around the face with a vibrant red lip would look lovely!

Hope this gives you some inspiration for your Christmas outfits without breaking the bank! If you want to know where anything is from just comment below!

Exam Fashion

It’s that time of year again, when studying and procrastination take over the life of students. You would think because I am in final year that I would have learned by now to not let myself get preoccupied by everything around me. Instead of studying I am looking up everything and anything under the sun! So I am putting this procrastination to good use and writing my final blog post before exams! My main focus will be on how to stay fashionable and comfortable in preparation for exam time. There is nothing worse than piling on all your winter essentials, the coat, scarves, hats and gloves and then faced with studying in a library that is unbearably warm. To me the answer is layering, layering and even more layering!! I find myself wearing comfortable jeans or dresses this time of year layered with shirts and cardigans, this way if you get too warm it is easy to take off one or two layers and likewise when a chilly breeze swings by. Sadly, I haven’t had the time to do a personal outfit post for this entry, but I have compiled a collage with items similar to my own wardrobe below. Perhaps a lot of the things are like what you already own and can use as inspiration to throw together bits and pieces for staying comfortable and stylish while studying.

Untitled #3

In unrelated fashion news I have created a Facebook page to make it easy to follow the blog, there is a link on the right side bar. Also for anyone who uses Bloglovin I have created an account on their too. For those of you who don’t know what Bloglovin is, it is a website that allows you to keep track of all the blogs you read in one place, it’s really easy to use and they have a handy app as well so you can read on the go. I am sad to say this is my last post before exams, but I will be back with lots of Christmas and New Year related posts after! 🙂

Katie 🙂
