Exam Fashion

It’s that time of year again, when studying and procrastination take over the life of students. You would think because I am in final year that I would have learned by now to not let myself get preoccupied by everything around me. Instead of studying I am looking up everything and anything under the sun! So I am putting this procrastination to good use and writing my final blog post before exams! My main focus will be on how to stay fashionable and comfortable in preparation for exam time. There is nothing worse than piling on all your winter essentials, the coat, scarves, hats and gloves and then faced with studying in a library that is unbearably warm. To me the answer is layering, layering and even more layering!! I find myself wearing comfortable jeans or dresses this time of year layered with shirts and cardigans, this way if you get too warm it is easy to take off one or two layers and likewise when a chilly breeze swings by. Sadly, I haven’t had the time to do a personal outfit post for this entry, but I have compiled a collage with items similar to my own wardrobe below. Perhaps a lot of the things are like what you already own and can use as inspiration to throw together bits and pieces for staying comfortable and stylish while studying.

In unrelated fashion news I have created a Facebook page to make it easy to follow the blog, there is a link on the right side bar. Also for anyone who uses Bloglovin I have created an account on their too. For those of you who don’t know what Bloglovin is, it is a website that allows you to keep track of all the blogs you read in one place, it’s really easy to use and they have a handy app as well so you can read on the go. I am sad to say this is my last post before exams, but I will be back with lots of Christmas and New Year related posts after! 🙂

Styling | Winter Warmers

The days are becoming colder, it’s soon approaching December and Christmas is getting closer and closer. This has got me thinking that it would be the perfect time for a winter warmers post. Recently, I haven’t got the chance to go shopping, I’ve been busy with assignments and now that’s going to be taken over by exams in the next few weeks. But that hasn’t stopped me getting distracted from college work by online window shopping! I love wrapping up in cosy jumpers, scarves, hats and gloves as the evenings get colder. Dressing for winter has a feel good sense about it, just like snuggling up by the fire on a bitter winter’s night. So with this in mind I have put together a wishlist of all things warm and fuzzy just to get you through the winter season. My Favourite thing here has to be the green tartan scarf from Boohoo. I love the Autumnal green colours it has and it would go perfect with any of these cosy jumpers. As you may notice I am also loving faux fur accessories this winter, with the earmuffs, headband and snood. Although, the snood is a bit pricey I feel it would be a small investment into your staple winter warmer accessories. I’d love to hear what everyone thinks of these pieces and what you are buying this winter? 🙂

Autumn/Winter 2013 Trend | Tartan

Today I’ve decided to focus on a big trend that everyone seems to be wearing these days, tartan! All things plaid and tartan seem to be staple pieces for a lot of people this season. I was recently in Galway and I picked up this tartan blouse in New Look for around €25. I feel it is a bit different to the majority of plaid shirts out there at the moment; this is mainly down to its material. It’s not your regular cotton shirt but instead it is made of chiffon which feels so so soft on your skin while being very airy and breathable at the same time. I’ve teamed it with grey acid wash jeans from Penneys for a more causal and comfy college look.

Going Out Look with a Hint of Red

Hey Everyone!
Last Thursday night I went out for my friend Grace’s birthday. My outfit is very simple but I added a little edge with red accessories and red lipstick to make my look stand out. I opted for a leather look skirt that Grace so kindly lent to me and a black and white chequered blouse that I picked up in Forever 21 awhile ago. I love this blouse because it is a bit different to the array of chequered blouses in the shops at the moment. If check isn’t your thing you could select a simpler design top instead, perhaps a white or beige blouse with a black bow detail at the neck. You could also choose leather look leggings instead of a skirt if you feel you are going to be too cold with the legs out this winter!
My bag and shoes are about a year old from Forever 21 and Zara. The chunky platform heel is a style I always wear. I feel they add a little edge to the outfit rather than choosing a standard stiletto style heel. They are also very comfortable after hours and hours of dancing! I picked them up for €50 which I feel is really good considering the amount of wear I have got out of them.
The photos are a bit dark but I really wanted to blog this outfit! I tried to lighten them up as much as I could so I hope they are clear for you. I have also put together a collage of similar pieces that you can pick up in the high street at affordable prices.
