What I Wore | Velvet Alert

So the blog has been set up over a week now and I am kind of getting used to this blogging thing! I got a new phone this weekend, I am finally back in touch with technology after two weeks of using a vintage Nokia flip phone! This means more and more photos for the blog 🙂

Today I am wearing a combination of Penneys bargains and focusing on a trend which will be with us this Autumn/ Winter season. Velvet! I got this velvet burgundy skirt in Penneys for only €11; I couldn’t believe it when I found it as I had been looking for a velvet skater style skirt for a while now. They also have it in black, but I went for the burgundy because I thought it would be a nice addition to my wardrobe for the festive season. The fit and texture is really nice for such an inexpensive item. I am finding more and more that the quality of clothes in Penneys has improved massively in the last couple of years; it is the perfect shop for your fast fashion needs.
Here, I have teamed the skirt with a warm charcoal knit jumper that I got last year in H & M. The crop style of the jumper makes it perfect to wear with skirts and high waist shorts. If you read my blog, you would noticed that both my shoes and necklace are featured in my first post (Penneys finest again) and are now staple pieces in my wardrobe. This skirt would also be perfect for festive party wear. If you wanted to dress up this look you could ditch the tights and jumper and replace them with chunky black high heels and a nice blazer or bejewelled jacket. Here is one I am loving from River Island at the moment but sadly it is a lot out of my price range! 😦 Perhaps I’ll put it on my Santa list.
My bag, is a satchel style (Penneys again) and I feel goes perfectly with this outfit. I usually wear this as a going out bag, but its perfect for a day time look as well and it fits all the essentials!

I have exams coming up over the next couple of weeks so I will try my best to keep blogging away!
