Happy New Year to you all and I hope you all had a relaxing and fun filled Christmas. I most certainly did, but unfortunately it is back to reality this week. Yesterday I started back to work after two weeks off, on Sunday evening I was like a depressed child going back to school after the summer holidays! But anyways, back to normality and routine, so I am starting my first blog post of the year off with a much needed outfit post and with a style I love to wear, monochrome!

Monochrome is definitely a trend that I rely on. It is effortless, and basically the lazy girl’s way to looking good. My main focal point of this outfit is this monochrome print cape style blazer. I picked this up just before the Christmas in the Miss Selfridge sale, it set me back €30 and was reduced from €50 or €60, I can’t quite remember! But still in my mind a bargain, as the quality of the fabric is very high and this could be thrown over basically anything from skirts, jeans and dresses. It can be easily dressed up or down depending on the look you are trying to achieve.
Here I have teamed it with a plain black tweed skirt from New Look and a black textured top also from New Look.
What is your opinion on monochrome? Do you think it will ever go out of style?
