As you all know (if you read my blog) I recently started a new job and entered into the world of being a grown up! Starting a new job is definitely a challenge and dressing for it is as equally tough. So in today’s post I am going to focus on an inexpensive work look that I put together one morning.
At the moment I am still trying to build a ‘capsule wardrobe’ of staple work wear pieces that I can mix match for whatever mood I am in. But here, I have just paired a plain black pair of suit trousers with a patterned top, black blazer and nude heels. Usually people are under the impression that work clothes can be quite expensive, but I picked up all these pieces at quite reasonable prices, the most expensive item was my blazer and that was only €40 from Dorothy Perkins. My suit trousers are also from Dorothy Perkins and set me back about €15 in the sale. Actually now that I think about it, everything I am wearing I picked up in the sale bar my blazer and handbag (my beloved Michael Kors).
Anyways, back to the outfit! My top is from River Island which I picked up a couple of months ago in Edinburgh for £12. I love the pattern and I think it works well for a smart work look. I have also worn it tucked into a high waist pencil skirt for a more feminine option. My shoes which have a red sole like Louboutins are from Arnotts. I think they are Buffalo and I got them for €27 reduced from €90! They are also one of my comfiest pair of heels and I don’t mind wearing them all day!
So there you have it, work wear on a budget! I’d love to know if you guys enjoyed this post as I am thinking about doing more work wear fashion related posts (now that I am a working lady!). Let me know your thoughts here, on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
